New Moon Astrology

From "New Moon Astrology - Using New Moon Power Days to Change and Revitalize Your Life" by Jan Spiller

Rules of the Road
Timing

This is a planet where we reap what we sow. By knowing what we want to harvest in our lives (the dreams we want to see come true) and by planting the seeds at the appropriate time, we can manifest the dreams of our heart. This book teaches you how to determine the most powerful timing for making wishes using the magic released during potent astrological cycles. By looking up the New Moon for each month, you will be able to see the exact date and time, as well as the sign it’s in (see the “What to Wish for When the New Moon Is in Each Sign” section, page 47). New Moon tables through the year 2050 begin on page 35.

Wishes don’t always come to full fruition in the approximate twenty-nine-and-a-half-day cycle between New Moons, but once the seeds are planted, they will come true in the months ahead. Experience has shown me that wishes can be made up to forty-eight hours after the exact time of the New Moon; however, the most potent time is within the first eight hours.

DO write down your wish list within eight hours following the exact time of the New Moon, whenever possible.

Format

For New Moon Power Wishes to come true they must be handwritten on paper, not typed on a typewriter or a computer. I have no idea why this is important, but years of experience with wishes have shown me what does and doesn’t work.

Tree Ceremony

What's needed: A gift of tobacco, corn meal, or raw sugar.
You go to the tree and start with the South: Who am I?
West: Where did I come from?
North: Why am I here
East: Where am I going?
Aloud: Arms to limb--feet to root-- skin to bark--blood to sap! I love you tree and give the tree a hug :-)

Moon share

Hi Moon Sisters,

Happy Tuesday! I thought today's DailyOM (Co-Creating with Nature) was beautifully aligned with our inspiration.

Imagine what it would be like to surrender certain aspects of your human world to the precision and surety of the natural environment. You might decide, for example, to forego your calendar and plant in rhythm with the cycles of the moon. Or, you might choose to ignore clock time and water your garden when the sun hits a certain position in the sky. By opening your garden experience to more of nature’s input, you can become available to witness a whole universe of miracles, while engendering a greater sense of honor between the two worlds.

Also, here's a full moon bath the Kalpulli Izkalli in Albuquerque, New Mexico recommends every full moon.

Full Moon – Bath Recipe

On the night of the full moon prepare the following recipe:

In a large glass or earthen ware bowl, place 1, 3, or 5 of the following:
Preferably fresh herbs - rosemary/romero, sage/salvia, rue/ruda, basil/albahaca, thyme/tomio,  fennel/hinojo, and flowers (wild preferably) any and all colors.

Fill the rest of the bowl with water and set outside (overnight) to receive/get “charged” with the light of the moon.

In the morning, you can use it in your bath water, or use with your shower.  Brushing your body with the rosemary and other herbs, keep your intentions in your mind and heart and allow the moon to fill your body and spirit as you wash away all that you do not need or want-re-membering (our heart, mind, body, and spirit) and that this water has been charged with the feminine, universal and divine light of the moon.

Don't forget how Beautiful and Powerful you are!

Moon power love,

Adela

Treasure Mapping

April 10: New Moon is at 3:38 AM Mountain Daylight Time (MDT) Get clear on your priorities, examine your energy leaks, and ruthlessly cut off what does not serve. This is a very good day to clean, clear, eliminate, prune, and make space. Remember that when you make space, the creativity will naturally flow in to the vacuum.  --The Power Path

This New Moon is the perfect time to set intentions for the year ahead. Spring is here, nature is blooming, and energy is rising. One way to direct energy where you want it to go is to create a Treasure Map.

Like a vision board with less structure and more Spirit, a Treasure Map is a visual representation of what you want to manifest and create in your life in the coming year. It can really be whatever you want to make it. Here are some links for inspiration:

"A treasure map is a prayer in pictures..."
http://iamalchemy.org/treasure_map.html

“A treasure map is an actual, physical picture of your desired reality.”
http://www.happiness-information.com/treasure-mapping.html

Or, you can just cut and paste images that are calling to you, that appeal to your sense as you contemplate the year ahead.

What about a treasure map of select tarot cards that speak to the qualities you want to embody or the powers you want to manifest this year?

My favorite church even gets into treasure mapping!

I'm really into the "this or something better" prayer when contemplating my heart's desires these days:

"This or something better, now manifest for me in totally satisfying and harmonious ways, for the highest good of all concerned." --Shakti Gawain, Creative Visualization

"This or something better is on its way to me..."

New Moon Birth

This blog has been gestating for eight months now, it's about time to give birth! Tonight's New Moon is a powerful one for manifesting, so here we go.

Moon Sisters near and far,

There are many Moon Sisters out there, practicing ritual at the full moon, the dark moon, the new moon, alone or in a circle.  I'd like this to be a virtual space where we can share our personal practices, inspiration, ideas, and sisterhood.  We are all spread around the country, but I find inspiration in knowing that I have Moon Sisters out there practicing ritual tonight, other times this week, other times this month. We can create power, support, love, and healing together, even though we are not physically together in a ritual circle.

Some of you are part of regular Moon Circles, others not.  I invite you to share what you feel moved to share. Share a little, or a lot. Share your experiences or your wishes. Share your requests for Sister Energy. Share your knowledge and share your questions. Photos welcome, stories welcome, links welcome. If you're not inclined to write online, send me a postcard!

Look forward to hearing your stories and dreams--

Happy New Moon!
